| The Roof The roof on the old barn had to take a priority over the outdoor arena and other projects as we developed new leaks in this pre-Depression era barn. The roof is going up in record time thanks to the great help of family and friends. We chose steel in the hopes that we never have to go up on this roof again during our lifetime! It is no wonder that both farming and roofing are listed in the top most dangerous jobs!

The Lodge and Outdoor Arena This spring has brought several changes to The Rustic Star. We are in the process of converting one of the outbuildings into a lodge with a bathroom, kitchenette, and bunks. We have created a walkway from the lodge to the new outdoor arena that is also in the process of being developed. The new outdoor arena will be 120 X 220--large enough to host events in the next couple years!

The Fencing: One of the first large projects that we began after purchasing this facility was the fencing. Much of the fencing was beyond repair, and we began the process of replacing the old wood fencing with durable Ramn fencing. We completed the first leg of this tremendous project just in time for winter! It was grueling back-breaking work, but Don persevered and was able to set up, with much appreciated help, three front paddocks with water lines and electric running to all three.

The Equine Library: You no longer have to run to the community library or the local bookstore to find up to date information regarding your horse's well being. At The Rustic Star we've put a growing library right at your fingertips with material covering anything from barrel racing to dressage to your horse's health and breed description. Feel free to come in and browse and take books home for your reading pleasure.

The Arena Footing: We've added a mixture of clean sand to the already nice footing in our indoor arena to help ensure the horses are worked in the safest environment possible.
